Domain Search

No. Only registration, renewal and transfer cost money, so you can try as many candidates as you like before deciding.

The registry did not answer for that name this time. Unconfirmed is not available, so retry later or confirm several at once with the bulk search.

It tells you, in real time, whether a name can be registered under a given ending. Our search checks the name across the endings we sell and shows the current price for each option that is free.

Yes. Adding it to the cart does not reserve it; it is yours once the order is processed and written to the registry. If another buyer completes first, you will see it turn to taken at checkout.

Search reports what the registry says right now. The registry can still refuse the registration on naming rules or character limits, which happens most often with IDNs (non-ASCII characters). A refused registration is not charged, and anything taken returns to your account credit.

A few endings run promotions where the first year is free or nearly free, but registration normally costs money. Even at zero in year one, renewals from year two are charged as usual, so judge the name on its renewal price rather than the first year.

No. Domains are registered for a fixed term, usually 1 to 10 years, and have to be renewed to keep them. The closest thing to permanent is the longest term with auto-renew on, so it stays yours as long as it keeps renewing.

Three routes: change the ending or the spelling and use the idea generator for close alternatives; look the domain up in WHOIS to judge whether approaching the holder is worthwhile; or, if you are set on it long term, watch it and wait for it to lapse. We do not hold domains on trust and we do not negotiate prices on your behalf.

Search before you register or buy: the local trademark register first, then an international brand database, and finally a web search for unregistered but established use. Where the name clearly overlaps an industry, speak to a trademark attorney before committing money.

Confirm it appears in My Domains, then decide what it is for. For a website, add DNS records pointing at your server. For a redirect, set up domain forwarding. If it is not yet in use, park it. For mail only, configure MX, SPF and DKIM. Whichever it is, turn on auto-renew while you are there.

DNS record management, domain forwarding, subdomains, mail forwarding and, where the ending allows it, privacy protection are all part of the domain price rather than separate orders. The website builder and domain mail are separate products, added when you need them.

Availability comes from live registry and registrar data, so it can change while you are searching. Results include internationalised names under endings that support IDN, and where a name is classed as premium by a registry or seller, that price is shown directly and marked as premium.
