Tools

Website builder, email, SSL, security and the API - what comes with a domain, in one place.

A domain on its own shows a visitor an empty page. What goes here is the rest of it: a website, mail, a certificate, and the security settings that protect them.

The four fit together simply. The domain is how people find you, the website is what they see, mail is how they reach you, and the certificate is what stops the browser warning them.

Website

Turn the domain into something that loads

Mail

Send and receive from your own domain

Certificate

A padlock instead of a warning

Security

Lock, privacy and account verification together

Please note

  • The domain, the website, mail and the certificate are four separate things. Any one of them expiring or being misconfigured brings back either a site that will not load or a browser warning.
  • Both the website and mail depend on DNS. Before changing records, check what is currently published so a working mailbox or site is not broken in the process.

Common questions

Can I buy only a domain for now?

Yes. It can be used for mail or forwarding, or simply held. Add a website when you need one; the domain stays in your account throughout.

Can the website and mail come from different providers?

Yes. They are pointed at different providers by different DNS records, and as long as the records are right they do not interfere with each other.

Is a certificate compulsory?

Not compulsory, but without one the browser labels the site unsafe. Anything that collects information from a visitor should have one.

Are these services charged separately?

How each one is billed depends on the service. Prices, and whether something is included elsewhere, are shown at checkout.
